Elite Event Management, one of Ireland’s leading sports event management companies have teamed up with North American based IoT solutions provider TRACEsafe Inc. to deliver a range of innovative solutions to help stadiums and venues across the UK and Ireland get spectators back on site watching the sports they love, live and in person.
TRACEsafe is an intelligent contact tracing and physical distancing alert management solution delivered using wearable technology. The technology is designed to help people maintain safe physical distancing with real time alerts. Stadiums and venues will be able to provide spectators with the self-communicating wrist bands, and the technology can instantly detect safe distance violations, alerting the wearer to maintain social distancing. The contact tracing solution performs multi-level contact mapping and alerts people who may have been exposed to an individual reported to have tested positive for covid-19 and to timely initiate actions and curb further spread of covid-19.
Oliver Kirwan CEO of Elite Event Management said, “We are delighted to partner with TRACEsafe Inc. as their preferred partner to fulfil the sales and deployment function for this exciting new product in the UK and Ireland region. Considering the current Covid – 19 pandemic we have to ensure that there is a robust contact tracing mechanism in place and that we can help maintain physical distancing at all events. This technology will help allow spectators of all sports to return to attending matches and events, safely’’
TRACEsafe Technologies Inc. CEO Dennis Kwan said in a statement. ‘‘We continue to innovate so that our products can help fans get back into stadiums and venues in a safe and responsible manner. Stadiums and venues are vested in having their fans return to an environment that is safe, and Tracesafe technology solutions can play an important role in achieving this.”
While the Covid – 19 pandemic is forcing most sports to resume play behind closed doors, the TRACEsafe solution can help organisations to progress to having some capacity at stadiums and venues. While most contact tracing applications rely on mobile phones for connectivity to the internet, as well as GPS for location, Tracesafe technology is independent of the mobile phone, which further enhances privacy protection by eliminating the need for using a mobile phone.
Deployment and piloting programmes are already underway. TRACEsafe solutions are being used by the Hong Kong government to manage and enforce their quarantine program for foreign visitors with initial deliveries completed. Transatlantic Rugby League team the Toronto Wolf Pack are currently piloting the TRACEsafe wearable technology system in their home stadium. Singaporean construction firm Boustead Projects E&C Pte Ltd will use the company’s location management technology as it reopens its construction sites. The technology has utility in all places of mass gatherings of people including hospitals, schools, sports events, universities and large industries. Through a simple to use backend administration application, management can accurately monitor contact tracing and immediately alert users of a reported virus outbreak to help stop the spread.
COVID-19 is widely expected to change how people shop, travel, and work for the foreseeable future. TRACEsafe technology is positioned to play an important part in implementing new safety and health policies as organisations fight the global COVID-19 pandemic.

TRACEsafe, is a proprietary self-quarantine management monitoring system which registers a user through a wrist tag. The tag can log time stamps and locations of the user through a single application used by both the user and administrators to a central monitoring system. TRACEsafe allows a user to declare once they have entered quarantine, and subsequently prompts periodic check-in acknowledgements. The application will alert administrators if the user fails to acknowledge a check-in, the tag is unreachable through the user’s phone or if the tag has been tampered with.
TRACEsafe was developed by WiSilica, Inc., a California-based private company in the business of creating intelligent Internet of Things (IoT) solutions to enable human centric lighting, real time tracking, intelligent wireless controls, and customized IoT Solutions. It helps customers manage space, energy, and gain access to insightful reports and dashboards.
